Our client is a large, national asset firm with Commercial and Residential properties across Canada.  They are well-established with a portfolio of premium properties.  They are currently looking for a Building Operator to join their team in overseeing a triple class A property in the GTA.  This is a CONTINENTAL SHIFT.


$75,000 annually plus additional perks.

Position Description

The Building Operator in this role will be responsible for troubleshooting and managing all maintenance issues within a Commercial Building.  As the Building Operator, your responsibilities will be to ensure the tenants have a safe environment and all technical maintenance issues are resolved in a timely manner.

In this role your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to…


  • Troubleshooting HVAC, boilers, chillers, pumps, etc. Experience working with the Enwave system for cooling is a definite asset
  • Ensuring preventative maintenance tasks are accomplished in a timely manner
  • Troubleshooting minor electrical and plumbing issues
  • Ensuring all work orders are completed in a timely manner and tenants are kept abreast of progress for each work order.
  • Ensuring courteous service and communication with all tenants
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints
  • Ensuring properties adhere to fire codes, safety and WHMIS
  • Conducting property inspections in order to ensure property standards are maintained
  • Obtaining quotes for all projects and award to contractors/suppliers
  • Managing external contractors while on-site


  • Have 4+ years of experience within commercial building operations
  • Comfortable working Continental Shift (7am to 7pm and 7pm to 7am)
  • Building Environmental Systems (BES) I and II an asset
  • Working knowledge of Enwave cooling system
  • Experience working in a LEED certified building a definite asset
  • Have strong communication skills, able to manage client relationships
  • Have excellent problem-solving skills, able to think on your feet
