The Opportunity

A Print Manufacturer with a strong reputation for high-quality printing solutions and innovative design is seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead their manufacturing operations to new heights.

Position Description

As the COO, you will be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of our print manufacturing operations. This role requires a dynamic, visionary leader with a proven track record in the print industry, extensive experience with unionized labour, a background in change management, and a strong commitment to excellence in leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Provide strong leadership for both front office and print production personnel, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement
  • Operational Excellence: Streamline and optimize manufacturing processes to ensure efficient and cost-effective production, while maintaining high quality standards
  • Unionized Labour Management: Develop and maintain positive relations with union representatives, ensuring a harmonious working environment and successful labour negotiations
  • Change Management: Drive organizational change initiatives, fostering innovation and adapting to industry trends
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with management team to develop and execute the company’s strategic plan, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives
  • Quality Control: Implement and maintain rigorous quality control standards to meet customer expectations
  • Budget and Cost Management: Monitor and control operational budgets, making data-driven decisions to improve cost-efficiency

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the print industry, with a strong understanding of print manufacturing processes and technologies
  • Proven experience in managing unionized labour and maintaining positive labour relations

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in change management and a track record of successfully implementing organizational changes
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide cross-functional teams
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
