The Opportunity

This employer of choice, seeking a Controller in Fuquay-Varina, NC (South Raleigh), is an enduring company with a stable team and a positive work environment, proud of their international scope. Position Description

In this important position as Controller you will oversee financial operations, focusing on the end-of-month, quarter, and year processes, including planning, budgeting, and forecasting. Your expertise and experience will called upon to make independent decisions while also advising senior management and colleagues on business strategies.

  • Oversee and manage the fixed asset system, including depreciation calculations and adherence to corporate policies.
  • Correct and balance accounting discrepancies.
  • Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries.
  • Ensure timely completion of financial reporting for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end deadlines.
  • Prepare financial statements to reflect and project the company’s financial position.
  • Analyze balance sheets and project future income and expenses.
  • Support in accounting, auditing, and budget management.
  • Aid in audit preparations.
  • Ensure adherence to GAAP and government regulations.
  • Oversee the IT department, ensuring optimal operation of network infrastructure and compliance with corporate standards.
  • Utilize accounting software for record-keeping and reporting.
  • Supervise a team of staff accountants and IT professionals, ensuring efficient and accurate work distribution.
  • Produce reports for the General Manager and senior management.


Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, with knowledge in accounts payable, accounts receivable, costing, and general ledger.


  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in mathematics, accounting, and financial processes.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, with effective time management skills.
  • Good critical thinking abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP and relevant regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other necessary systems.
  • Familiarity with JD Edwards, Syman, and Hyperion software is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple sites and requires on-site presence.
  • Open to residing near one facility with monthly travel to others.


Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
