Compensation

The position offers a comprehensive compensation package, inclusive of a lucrative base salary and an extensive benefits package.

Position Description

The Director of Operations is looked to and relied upon for providing provide their experience, expertise and guidance for all operations, leasing with clients to formulate financial and operational annual business plans, and to handle contract negotiations.

You will work alongside the General Manager to guarantee strategic coherence and will shoulder the responsibility of communicating main priorities to several individuals under your supervision.

You will be responsible for two sites, one in the GTA and the other in Western Canada, so travel out west will be required, likely at least once a month.

 

Profitability

  • Accountable for the overall profit and loss metrics of the region.
  • Jointly create the annual budget for the region.
  • Initiate and monitor continuous cost-saving actions.

Operations

  • Spearhead initiatives internally to enhance the customer experience by boosting the accuracy and dependability of warehouse and logistics.
  • Evaluate and relay the team’s attainment of various KPIs, embedding these metrics into a performance-driven atmosphere.
  • Offer a forward-thinking approach to labor forecasting, including analyzing past data and anticipated demands, strict monitoring of productivity, and establishing benchmarks for every distribution process.

Customer Support

  • Uphold beneficial and constructive client interactions, spotting chances for heightened revenue/profit, ensuring that the scope of work aligns with operational capabilities or that strategies are in place to amplify the operational potential of the facility.
  • Champion and supervise both strategic and operational plans to satisfy service standards at the most economical rate, whilst upholding quality within the defined acceptable parameters.
  • Define clear, realistic, and quantifiable targets, confirming that both contractual and corporate service norms are consistently achieved.
  • Address and rectify client grievances and instill a culture centered around LEAN and perpetual enhancement.

People Management

  • Partner with General Managers and Senior Managers to foster inter-departmental collaboration and effectiveness.
  • Work closely with regional and local personnel to synchronize account operations.
  • Offer appropriate direction and mentoring to the Distribution crew.
  • Achieve outcomes by utilizing the aptitudes of apt personnel when needed.
  • Sustain high motivational levels in team members to emphasize premium customer satisfaction.
  • Introduce continuous opportunities for team growth and learning.
  • Offer feedback on the performance of team members.
  • Cultivate and sustain stellar team engagement levels.

Experience

A decade of leadership expertise in a dynamic supply chain/logistics scenario.

Qualifications

  • Sharp financial knowledge, encompassing a thorough comprehension of cost variables, relentless improvement productivity elements, and LEAN principles.
  • Exceptional leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  • Robust organizational and decision-making prowess.
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of Products – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Superior written and spoken communication abilities.

Education

A degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a similar discipline.
