The Opportunity

As an International Cargo Agent, you’ll play a crucial role overseeing smooth and efficient logistics for Air & Ocean Imports and Exports, as well as managing logistics accounts. You’ll be the go-to person for both industry-leading clients and internal teams, ensuring top-notch support, clear communication, and high satisfaction levels.

Position Description

  • Manage the end-to-end logistics for air and ocean freight shipments
  • Coordinate with carriers, suppliers, and clients to schedule and track shipments
  • Develop and implement efficient routing plans to optimize shipping costs and transit times
  • Prepare and review shipping documentation, including bills of lading, air waybills, and commercial invoices
  • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and company policies
  • Handle import/export declarations and customs brokerage processes
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding their shipments
  • Provide timely updates on shipment status and address any issues or delays
  • Offer solutions and advice to clients on shipping options, costs, and regulations
  • Identify and resolve issues related to shipping, such as delays, damages, or discrepancies
  • Work with relevant parties to address and resolve claims or disputes
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments including tracking information and documentation
  • Generate reports and analyze data to improve operational efficiency and service quality
  • Work closely with internal teams, including sales, and finance to ensure seamless operations
  • Communicate effectively with external stakeholders, including carriers, customs officials, and clients
  • Perform various other duties as needed

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in import/export coordination, freight forwarding, or logistics
  • Experience with air and ocean freight operations is required

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of the freight forwarding
  • Strong knowledge of International trade regulations, customs procedures, and shipping documentation
  • Must be able to work remotely
  • Fluently Bilingual (English and French) is preferred
  • A third language is an asset
  • Must have some flexibility in working hours as the company deal internationally in many different time zones
  • Ability to understand and meet customer needs and requirements, providing quality service
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management and task prioritization skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Word

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field preferred.
