Operations Manager

Company Description

This respected organization operates in the green energy sector, dedicated to sustainable practices and alternative methods that safeguard the environment. At present, they are poised for significant growth in the manufacturing domain. They are in search of an Operations Manager who can progress to a plant management position in due course.

Compensation

A lucrative base salary between $115,000 – $145,000/year is on offer (commensurate upon experience), plus bonus, plus a comprehensive benefits package.

Position Description

  • Offering leadership at the facility and supporting the Facility Manager as needed.
  • Guiding the Operations team while fostering a culture of safety.
  • Streamlining production and continuously seeking ways to reduce operating expenses.
  • Collaborating with Compliance and Safety managers to fulfill all requisite standards.
  • Coordinating with the Maintenance team to prioritize equipment repairs and enhancements.
  • Reviewing equipment and procedures to enhance efficiency or ensure they adhere to safety and environmental norms.
  • Aiding in addressing equipment and process issues.
  • Collaborating with leadership to plan and implement capital enhancement projects, which includes design, budget planning, validation, oversight, and reporting.
  • Supporting the management of the facility’s Safety Management program components, such as organizing HAZOPs, ensuring mechanical reliability, overseeing changes, and so forth.

Experience

  • Ideally, over 5 years of experience in large-scale continuous process settings such as refining or petrochemical, but experience in similar processes is also considered.
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience in operations. Experience with unions is an advantage.

Qualifications

  • Strong operations management experience is a must.
  • Familiarity with managing capital projects.
  • Proficient in systems that use distillation columns, hydrotreaters, industrial containers, rotary machinery, control setups, instruments, piping, and the like.
  • A background in EHS compliance, with an emphasis on Process Safety Management.
  • Robust leadership and communication capabilities and ready to take a proactive, hands-on approach as a manager within the plant.

Education

Post-secondary degree in Engineering is ideal.
