The Opportunity

As business continues to expand, they are hiring a Project Freight Coordinator who will take charge of day-to-day logistics execution for project cargo shipments. This position is ideal for someone who thrives on time-sensitive coordination, enjoys being at the center of multi-party communication, and takes pride in keeping freight moving without disruption.

Position Description

  • Coordinating full life-cycle shipment activity from port arrival through final delivery
  • Serving as the main point of contact for carriers, trucking partners, co-loaders, and customs brokers
  • Monitoring and updating shipment status inside the transport management system
  • Troubleshooting holds, delays, and exceptions with urgency and accuracy
  • Ensuring all commercial paperwork and regulatory documentation is complete and compliant
  • Supporting invoicing, costing, and file closure activities
  • Championing operational excellence through proactive communication and measurable KPIs
  • Ensuring a consistent customer experience across all projects and internal branches
  • Fast-paced, high-volume, detail-first logistics setting
  • Monday to Friday, full-time on-site presence required
  • Company-provided parking
  • Candidates with a reasonable commute are preferred

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on freight forwarding operations experience (air and ocean, import and export)
  • Proven background coordinating oversized or project cargo in the Canadian or North American market
  • Strong communication skills when working with carriers, vendors, and clients
  • High attention to detail, especially around documentation, routing, and compliance
  • Ability to juggle multiple shipments, deadlines, and stakeholders at once
  • Confident problem solver who stays calm when exceptions arise
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and transport management systems
  • Bilingual in English and French is an asset

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field is preferred
