An established and growing healthcare organization based in the Durham Region is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to support several clinic locations. The organization operates specialty infusion clinics and works closely with specialty physicians to deliver high-quality patient care. With a broad footprint and a range of specialized services, they play a key role in supporting the healthcare sector. The team includes more than 200 staff across the region and continues to grow.

Compensation

Competitive rate of $70 – $80/hour, complemented by a comprehensive compensation package

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for an entrepreneurial Nurse Practitioner who is passionate about patient-centered care and program development. The role blends hands-on clinical practice with quality improvement, education, and clinic operations within a growing specialty infusion environment. You’ll play a meaningful role in shaping care delivery while working alongside a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.

Position Description

The Nurse Practitioner will provide direct patient care within scope, supporting patients across episodic primary care, preventative care, chronic disease management, and specialty infusion services. The role includes close collaboration with specialist physicians, particularly in gastroenterology and other specialty areas, as well as support for patients before and after biologic infusions.

Beyond clinical care, this position contributes to clinic operations and quality initiatives, including mentoring nursing staff, supporting safe infusion practices, developing policies and clinical pathways, and participating in audits and performance improvement activities. The NP will also support patient and staff education and help build a community of practice focused on evidence-based care and continuous improvement.

Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience practicing as a Nurse Practitioner in a primary care or adult setting
  • Experience working with complex or chronic patient populations
  • Exposure to specialty clinics, infusion therapy, or IBD management is considered an asset
  • Experience with quality improvement initiatives, clinic operations, or mentoring is an asset

Qualifications

  • Current registration and good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario as an NP (PHC or Adult)
  • Authorized to practice with appropriate Professional Liability Protection
  • Strong clinical judgment, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Comfortable using EMRs and digital tools
  • Adaptable, proactive, and motivated to contribute to program growth

Education

Master’s degree in Nursing with Nurse Practitioner certification (Primary Health Care or Adult stream).
