The Opportunity

If you enjoy the hunt, this role will feel natural.

You will be focused on opening doors across the Chicago market, building relationships, and bringing in new business. The service offering is broad, covering international freight, domestic transportation, and end-to-end logistics support, which gives you a lot to work with when speaking to clients.

The hybrid setup means you will spend time out meeting clients and prospects, while still having the flexibility to manage your day, follow up, and plan from home.

This is not a sit-back-and-manage role. It is for someone who likes getting out there, having conversations, and turning opportunities into long-term partnerships.

Position Description

Day to day, you will be building your presence across Chicago and growing your territory.

  • Prospecting and reaching out to new potential clients
  • Meeting with decision-makers across the region, both in person and virtually
  • Understanding supply chain challenges and offering practical solutions
  • Presenting services across air, ocean, and domestic transportation
  • Putting together proposals that make sense for the client
  • Closing deals and building long-term relationships
  • Keeping your pipeline active and organized
  • Working closely with internal teams to ensure a smooth client experience
  • Growing a focused group of key accounts over time

Experience

  • Background in freight forwarding or logistics sales
  • Comfortable building business from scratch, not just maintaining accounts
  • Experience selling services rather than physical products
  • Familiar with how international shipping and supply chains work

Qualifications

  • You are driven and do not need to be micromanaged
  • You are comfortable speaking with senior decision-makers
  • You know how to ask the right questions and listen
  • You can explain complex services in a simple way
  • You like winning business and take pride in it
  • You follow through and keep your word
