Compensation

The Opportunity

This exciting opportunity calls for a strategic and service-driven professional to step into a dynamic Account Manager, Customs role; one focused on building strong client partnerships, driving growth, and delivering world-class customs solutions.

The successful candidate will act as the primary relationship lead for a portfolio of valued clients, combining business acumen with industry insight to deliver tailored strategies, impeccable service, and measurable results.

Position Description

In this important role, you will champion client relationships by driving retention, fostering growth, and delivering outstanding service at every touchpoint. As a trusted advisor, you’ll uncover opportunities for value-added solutions, skillfully manage key performance indicators, and navigate challenges with professionalism and precision.

With occasional travel and the flexibility to work beyond the typical 9–5, this position offers both variety and the chance to make a meaningful impact in a client-facing, results-driven environment.

  • Client Partnership & Strategy: Take the lead in managing key accounts by developing strategic relationship plans aligned with clients’ evolving customs and compliance needs. Identify upselling opportunities and act as the voice of the client internally.
  • Operational Leadership: Drive monthly operations reviews and quarterly business reviews, ensuring all performance targets are being met. Translate client feedback into actionable plans and follow-ups.
  • Issue Resolution & Advocacy: Serve as the go-to problem-solver for client concerns—collaborating with operations and support teams to implement corrective actions and maintain client satisfaction.
  • Performance & Reporting: Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and contractual commitments, escalating non-conformities as needed.
  • Revenue Forecasting: Prepare and manage revenue forecasts in collaboration with clients, keeping internal projections aligned and proactively addressing potential churn.
  • Growth Enablement: Lead solution renewals and identify opportunities to expand service offerings. Align internal resources to deliver innovative, client-centered proposals.
  • Profitability & Risk Management: Partner with internal teams and clients to review profitability, improve margins, and manage credit risk.
  • Business Development Support: Contribute expertise and insights to new business development efforts, especially during RFP processes.

Experience

  • A post-secondary education in international business, logistics, or a related field—or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of industry experience, with a strong track record in account management and client engagement

Qualifications

  • A deep understanding of customs regulations and cross-border logistics
  • Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) designation
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management capabilities
  • Intermediate or better proficiency with Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and email platforms
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle, with no cross-border travel restrictions
  • A natural relationship builder and persuasive communicator
  • Adept at managing multiple priorities in high-volume, high-pressure environments
  • Proactive in identifying solutions and delivering above-and-beyond service
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable generating reports, conducting analysis, and using digital tools
  • Ready to work flexible hours, travel as needed, and thrive in a fast-paced, client-facing role

Education

  • A post-secondary education in international business, logistics, or a related field—or equivalent practical experience
  • Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) designation
