Compensation

  • Annual salary between £50,000 and £65,000
  • 40 hours per week, day shift

The Opportunity

You will be empowered to ensure the safe operational running of the plant and the personnel that make it all possible. This opportunity comes with a great shift pattern consisting, of Monday to Friday, on the day shift. They have a family-like environment and will truly make you feel part of their well-oiled team.

Position Description

You will be required to facilitate the site to a high standard across a range of maintenance aspects. As a member of the management team, reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, you will be responsible for the engineering staff and managing the site out of hours.

  • Develop, execute, and perform preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Perform repairs in the event of breakdowns.
  • Provide engineering coverage for production shifts.
  • Offer on-call support for production needs.
  • Undertake repairs on plant equipment.
  • Supervise all plant repair activities.
  • Supervise the management of engineering supplies.
  • Place orders for necessary spare parts.
  • Procure and manage personal protective equipment (PPE) and clothing.
  • Manage all service contracts.
  • Ensure that manufacturing and plant food standards meet the company’s expectations.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple strategic projects and issues.
  • Continuously ensure that engineering staff dedicate time to strategic planning while handling day-to-day tasks, and challenge any unacceptable practices.
  • Plan engineering work to minimize disruptions to production operations.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering regulations and customer requirements.
  • Provide information on the latest technologies and their potential applications.
  • Generate, implement, and apply innovative and entrepreneurial approaches to maximize business opportunities.
  • Handle engineering shift schedules.
  • Document all planned preventive maintenance (PPM) work.
  • Oversee all site health and safety requirements.
  • Manage project-related tasks.
  • Handle administrative tasks for engineering personnel.
  • Maintain buildings and oversee site services.
  • Take responsibility for health and safety matters.
  • Fulfill any other reasonable requests made by the company.

Experience

  • Experience in managing teams of engineers
  • Experience working in a food environment as a manager

Qualifications

Having HND or HNC certifications

Education

Degree or education related to Engineering
