The Opportunity

As a Machine Extruder Operator, you’ll be at the heart of a dynamic production floor—responsible for setting up, running, and fine-tuning extrusion lines to ensure optimal efficiency and top-tier product quality.

Position Description

This position is ideal for a skilled tradesperson who enjoys hands-on work, troubleshooting mechanical processes, and seeing the tangible results of their efforts.

***Shift Pattern: Continental rotation (12-hour shifts, 2 weeks days / 2 weeks nights)***

  • Configure and operate extrusion lines and bagging systems to meet product specifications for film gauge, width, clarity, and strength.
  • Conduct hourly quality checks on film appearance, consistency, and material strength—ensuring all products meet or exceed customer standards.
  • Minimize downtime and waste through proactive troubleshooting, careful monitoring of blends, and accurate material staging.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety procedures; perform routine machine care and assist with minor repairs.
  • Provide guidance to production helpers and support team-based learning and improvement initiatives.
  • Record production data accurately in plant systems and maintain traceability for all runs.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of hands-on experience in a blown film extrusion or similar plastics manufacturing environment
  • A strong understanding of machine setup parameters, material blends, and heat profiles
  • Attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and pride in producing high-quality products
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work safely in a fast-paced environment
  • Team-oriented mindset with solid communication skills and a commitment to continuous improvement
