Manufacturing Superintendent

Company Description

Our client is a storied leader in the industrial manufacturing spaces. They are at the head of their class providing their customers with industry leading technology. They are growing and in need of a Manufacturing Superintendent, to manage the day-to-day operations of their manufacturing facility of 50 unionized employees.

The Opportunity

Working cross functionally with operations and engineering the individual will be responsible for the oversight of the setup, execution and shipment of all custom manufactured products in a unionized environment.

You will manage the building of products including ASME Code pressure vessels, standard and custom piping subassemblies. The successful candidate will demonstrate a proven ability to balance both the needs of the team, with the demands of the clients, efficiently and on budget.

Experience

Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment ideally involving welding.

Qualifications

  • General knowledge of non-destructive examination (NDE)
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and drawings
  • Comfortable operating computers and software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Candidates with a knowledge of SAP business software will be favoured
  • Strong time management skills – able to deal with conflicts and meet deadlines
  • Post-Secondary Degree/Diploma or equivalent, preferably in technical fields of study
  • The ideal candidate will be a hands-on mechanically inclined with strong problem solving skills
  • A candidate with knowledge of Continuous Improvement/Lean Manufacturing; 5S; Six Sigma principles and processes is ideal

Education

Bachelor’s degree or certification in a related technical field.
