The Opportunity

This is a promising opportunity for a Millwright to join a company with leading technology, world class manufacturing and leading facilities. In this important position, you would be responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on the facility’s equipment, including rotating and fixed equipment. Through routine and non-routine equipment maintenance, you would be entrusted to ensure that the department is run to maximize quality safety and productivity.

Position Description

Primary responsibilities and duties include:

  • Understands all SOPs relating to the Maintenance department
  • Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on fixed and rotating equipment, such as pumps, mixers, insulation, packaging lines, compressors, blowers, gearboxes, boilers, extruders, heat exchangers, filters, etc.
  • Set up, trouble shoot and maintain packaging equipment
  • Troubleshooting mechanical/equipment problems and performing unscheduled equipment repairs
  • Able to do minor pipe fitting, plumbing and pipe insulation
  • Read and interpret machine drawings in order to resolve problems or to rebuild equipment, by utilizing prints and plant documentation
  • Troubleshoot and repair rotating equipment problems, assisting in the determination of root causes of equipment failures
  • Able to weld and fabricate parts
  • Able to move heavy equipment
  • Able to overhaul all types of pumps
  • Search for WOs in CMMS and specify and order parts needed to complete work
  • Document work performed in PM procedures
  • Participate in route cause Investigations
  • Order and/or specify parts needed
  • Maintain equipment records
  • Ensure maintenance history is accurate and entered into the CMMS
  • Document all unplanned repairs
  • Participate in route cause Investigations
  • Order and/or specify parts needed
  • Records parts used for accurate inventory control

 

Safety responsibilities include:

  • Comply with all safety company policies as well as provincial and local regulations, with the support and guidance of Corporate SHEQ authorities
  • All safe work permits are completed
  • Risk assessment completed

Experience

Minimum 4 years of related experience

Qualifications

  • 422A license an asset
  • Welding, pipe fitting/oxy fuel cutting
  • Rigging
  • Pump repair
  • Fall arrest / working at heights

Education

  • Post-secondary education an asset
  • High School diploma
  • Received training either through a formal apprenticeship program or through community colleges combined with informal on-the-job training
