Millwright (Nights)

Orillia, ON
Job ID 10580

Company Description

Our client is a well-established manufacturer with a reputation for producing dependable products that customers rely on every day. Their success comes from a practical and disciplined approach: keep production moving, maintain high standards, solve problems properly, and continue improving the way work gets done.

As the business grows, the leadership team is looking to strengthen the reliability of its equipment, facility systems, and day-to-day manufacturing operations. They are seeking a licensed Millwright who can support production, respond to maintenance needs, complete preventative work, troubleshoot issues, and help keep the plant running safely and efficiently.

If you enjoy hands-on work, variety, and being close to the production floor, this opportunity offers a meaningful role in a busy manufacturing environment where skilled tradespeople are genuinely relied upon.

Compensation

  • $35.65/hour
  • Health and dental benefits starting right away
  • Vision care
  • Life and disability insurance
  • Employee assistance program
  • Paid vacation and personal time
  • Profit sharing
  • Cell phone allowance each pay
  • Casual workplace environment
  • On-site parking

*The stated compensation range reflects the full scope of the role as currently structured and is provided in accordance with pay transparency requirements. Offers are determined based on relevant experience, demonstrated skills, internal equity, and alignment with the role’s requirements. The upper end of the range is typically reserved for candidates who fully meet all requirements and qualifications outlined in this posting and the official job description.

The Opportunity

This is a strong fit for a Millwright who likes the pace and variety of manufacturing maintenance. The work is not confined to one machine, one type of repair, or one predictable routine. You will be supporting production equipment, facility-related systems, preventative maintenance work, troubleshooting, rebuilds, repairs, and equipment improvements.

The schedule is continental straight nights, 7:00pm to 7:00am. Training is completed on day shift, typically Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm, for approximately one month. Additional training time can be accommodated where needed.

For someone who takes pride in keeping a plant running properly, this role offers meaningful daily impact. When equipment is operating well, production flows. When it is not, the maintenance team becomes essential. This position places you at the centre of that reliability.

Position Description

  • Inspect, repair, adjust, install, dismantle, and rebuild production and facility equipment
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues, equipment failures, and recurring performance problems
  • Complete preventative maintenance and corrective repairs through the work order system
  • Identify issues early and help reduce unplanned downtime
  • Use machine tools and maintenance equipment such as lathes, drills, grinders, saws, hand tools, and related shop equipment
  • Support equipment overhauls, installations, and mechanical improvements
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance work area
  • Work with others across maintenance and production to resolve issues efficiently
  • Take on additional maintenance-related duties as required

Experience

  • Relevant industrial maintenance experience
  • At least 5 years of hands-on machinery repair and maintenance experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Practical experience with mechanical systems, pneumatic systems, and electrical troubleshooting
  • Strong working knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance practices
  • Experience working with computerized or structured work order systems
  • PLC knowledge, considered an asset
  • Previous experience leading a task, repair, shutdown activity, or small project, considered valuable

Qualifications

  • A valid Red Seal Millwright licence
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and sound mechanical judgment
  • The ability to work well under pressure, especially when equipment downtime affects production
  • A reliable, safety-minded, team-oriented approach
  • The ability to follow direction while also taking ownership of assigned work
  • Good communication skills when working with maintenance, production, and leadership
  • A ticketed skilled trades background beyond Millwright, considered an asset

Education

  • Red Seal Millwright licence required
  • Related technical or trades training considered an asset
