An established, growing, dynamic healthcare and pharmaceutical organization based in the GTA is looking for a Pharmacy Assistant for one of their locations in Oshawa. This role is with an organization that has multiple locations and service offerings with unique and specialized pharmacy structures. They have over 100 staff throughout the region and continue to grow.

Compensation

$40,000 – $45,000 salary

The Opportunity

This opportunity offers a PERMANENT, FULL-TIME position with exclusive day shift. This organization conducts closed-door pharmacy operations, operating from 9am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. Dedicated to delivering outstanding patient care, this specialized pharmacy focuses on assisting individuals in securing the necessary coverage to access medications that can enhance their quality of life.

Position Description

  • Managing patient and drug information files, ensuing accurate and up-to-date information before filling a prescription.
  • Entering prescriptions into Kroll
  • Establish communication with patients, prescribers and healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive support throughout the treatment journey.
  • Verify and investigate insurance coverage and benefits, addressing eligibility, co-payments, deductibles, and special authorizations.
  • Collaborate with public and private insurers and patient assistance programs to determine coverage options.
  • Communication medication deliveries with patients
  • Manage inventory stock
  • Ensure timely completion and submission of necessary paperwork
  • Handling patient inquiries with professionalism and referring to Pharmacist when patient requires counselling
  • Maintaining a clean and organized dispensary environment

Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or Reimbursement Specialist
  • Proficiency with Kroll a strong asset
  • Experience with patient support programs an asset
  • Proficiency with MS Office and G Suite

Qualifications

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Fluent written and oral English communication skills
  • Relevant experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or Reimbursement Specialist

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of post-secondary education a strong asset
