Company Description

Our client is a storied manufacturer of commercial and industrial HVAC and refrigeration products. They are consistently growing in business, with a well-established product line and newly renovated facility, and seek a talented and experienced Pressure Vessel Engineer in Burlington, ON.

Compensation

Strong base salary of $85,000, plus a comprehensive benefits package, RRSP matching and additional perks.

The Opportunity

An Opportunity to Shape, Build, and Innovate

This is an exciting opportunity for a driven professional eager to take on a dynamic role that blends technical design, problem-solving, and hands-on shop floor collaboration. The successful candidate will have the chance not only to leverage existing expertise but also to grow new skills while contributing directly to the success of cutting-edge engineering projects.

This position offers the best of both worlds: the technical satisfaction of complex design work and the immediate impact of seeing your solutions come to life on the shop floor. For someone who enjoys being at the heart of the action—translating engineering theory into real-world results—this is a role where your contributions won’t just sit on paper; they’ll become tangible products, improvements, and innovations that matter.

Position Description

As part of a collaborative team, this individual will work closely with fellow engineers and designers while engaging with quality, production, and procurement functions. This is a role for someone who thrives in both the detail of design and the practicalities of fabrication, providing critical daily support that bridges engineering concepts with real-world execution.

  • Create and review precise engineering drawings and documentation that drive efficient, accurate fabrication.
  • Apply strong technical judgment to mechanical design challenges, ensuring all work meets rigorous standards, industry codes, and client expectations.
  • Utilize leading design software (3D/2D platforms) to produce models, layouts, weld maps, and bills of material.
  • Conduct and verify design calculations while providing peer review for team deliverables.
  • Support shop floor operations by troubleshooting and providing innovative, cost-effective solutions to design and manufacturing challenges.
  • Collaborate closely with production and quality teams to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Contribute ideas to improve engineering productivity, workflow, and communication across disciplines.

Experience

A minimum of 5 years’ engineering experience, including direct involvement in mechanical design and manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, ideally complemented by (or on track toward) professional registration.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design codes, standards, and fabrication practices.
  • Proficiency with design and drafting tools (both 3D and 2D), with demonstrated experience turning concepts into actionable deliverables.
  • Familiarity with design calculation software and a knack for practical problem-solving.
  • Solid command of Microsoft Office and collaborative digital platforms.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to work independently or collaboratively while managing priorities, deadlines, and responsibilities with confidence.

Education

Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, ideally complemented by (or on track toward) professional registration.
