Position Description

As the Product Manager for the HVAC Product Sales Division, you will oversee all aspects of this industry leader’s commercial and ventilation HVAC products. This includes introducing new products and establishing support programs to assist customers before and after sales. You’ll be instrumental in developing and implementing strategies to bring products to the market and manage them throughout their life cycles. Your expertise, creativity and sage guidance will be valued by senior leadership and both products and services management.

  • In this role, you oversee the entire roadmap for all commercial HVAC products. You develop competitive comparisons for cooling, heating, controls, and ventilation products to keep the organization ahead in the market.
  • You work closely with the sales and marketing teams to create materials, tools, promotions, and campaigns that help launch products successfully and drive ongoing profitable sales. Collaborating with OEM partners is also part of your responsibilities when needed.
  • By analyzing market data, you assist in determining strategies for positioning new products. Acting as a liaison with the factory, you manage daily activities to resolve issues like product gaps, specification improvements, and new features raised by their sales channels.
  • As the team grows, you set individual objectives and standards, monitor and evaluate performance, and mentor team members to maximize business impact with a customer-centric attitude.
  • You create and manage warranty policies and procedures to ensure your team meets their business objectives. Working closely with the technical services manager and factories, you support the resolution of quality assurance and technical issues for the commercial product range.
  • Coordinating with the technical team, you facilitate pre-market product testing and ensure new products meet engineering compliance standards.
  • You’re responsible for developing and delivering training programs on product application and design to help increase annual sales volumes in line with their growth targets. You ensure all technical documentation is accurate and up to date.
  • As the subject matter expert for their commercial products, you identify product gaps, needs, and enhancements by working with the sales teams. Collaborating with the Commercial Sales Manager, you research and understand current market and competitor conditions.
  • You monitor historical data and trends to anticipate future performance and identify potential gaps and unmet needs. You conduct regular industry, market, consumer, competitor, and profitability analyses, adjusting plans as needed and providing input into sales and marketing strategies.
  • You communicate monthly reports to your supervisor, summarizing key issues, ongoing projects, timelines, resource needs, new ideas, and plans. You schedule regular meetings with sales, marketing, technical services, and supply chain teams to monitor team activities and progress on key tasks.
  • Participation in industry events is also part of your role as needed.

Experience

5 to 10 years of experience in product marketing or product management of heat pumps, preferably VRF systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Strong technical knowledge of commercial heating, air-conditioning, and ventilation systems.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Advanced interpersonal, communication, sales, and people management skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation abilities.
  • Proven ability to effectively execute the key responsibilities of the position.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as business needs arise.
