Quality Control Lab Technologist

Company Description

Our client is widely recognized as Canada’s leading food ingredient supplier, known for taking a product from inception through to development, manufacturing, packaging and distribution.  They are looking to fill a critical role on their Quality Team on the afternoon shift.

Compensation

Competitive compensation with bonus.

The Opportunity

This position will manage multiple, ongoing tasks to ensure safe quality ingredients and finished products. You will work closely with Manufacturing, shipping and Receiving Purchasing and Replenishment, Customer Service, Regulatory and Sales.

Position Description

  • Test to positively release manufactured products and create Certificates of Analysis (COA’s)
  • Conduct incoming sampling and testing of raw materials
  • Develop, update and validate analytical testing
  • Investigate product non-conformance and customer complaint investigations
  • Aid in the implementation of HACCP and GMP programs and procedures
  • Support sanitation programs
  • Support GLP’s for equipment calibration, record keeping, lab supplies, etc.

Experience

  • Science Degree or Diploma (Food Science an asset)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience within a Food Manufacturing or Quality Lab
  • Proven success in a high volume work environment
  • Working knowledge of Food Quality and Safety Programs
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Sales and marketing proficiency
