Senior Executive – LCL Sales

Position Description

The ideal candidate will bring a strong track record in sales and business development within the freight forwarding and logistics sector, with a focus on expanding the company’s LCL consolidation business across the assigned territory.

The role is responsible for strengthening market presence, expanding customer and partner networks within the UAE and subsequently across other FSL GCC markets, while deepening relationships with existing clients and driving sustainable revenue growth through new business opportunities.

As part of a long-established leader in freight forwarding, the successful candidate will work with an experienced operations and support team committed to delivering exceptional customer service, with full backing from senior management to achieve ambitious sales and growth objectives.

Product Management

  • Coordinate with NVOCC partners to secure competitive freight rates and local charges in line with management guidelines.
  • Monitor and optimize cost structures through regular evaluation of carriers and co-loaders to maximize value for both customers and the company.
  • Maintain accurate rate records and ensure timely updates of buying and selling rates within company systems.
  • Support completion of bids and RFQs by sourcing and validating country-specific rate requirements within deadlines.
  • Maintain and regularly update LCL sailing schedules.

 

Business Development

  • Work closely with Sales and Operations teams to deliver competitive pricing solutions for genuine customer opportunities, with final selling rates approved by management.
  • Participate in customer meetings, joint sales visits, and presentations to strengthen business relationships.
  • Support country sales leadership in generating new business from new prospects, existing company networks, and personal industry contacts, in collaboration with the sales team.
  • Evaluate routing options and profitability of new and existing accounts to ensure optimal margins are achieved.

 

Reporting & Performance Monitoring

  • Support business development initiatives, particularly for freight collect opportunities.
  • Provide timely market intelligence and product updates to management.
  • Assist in preparing customer presentations and RFQ submissions.
  • Establish, circulate, and maintain minimum selling rate guidelines for LCL shipments.
  • Track and follow up on sales pipelines, focusing on high-value opportunities.
  • Ensure all rate inquiries are followed up promptly and identify additional requirements needed to secure business.
  • Submit monthly and ad-hoc reports as requested by management.

 

Market & Product Analysis

  • Provide continuous updates on market trends, competitive developments, and product positioning.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in freight forwarding, with strong exposure to LCL consolidation and NVOCC sales operations.
  • Sound operational understanding of NVOCC products within the freight forwarding industry.
  • Strong analytical ability with the capability to generate meaningful MIS insights.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
