Third Party Logistics Manager

Company Description

Our client is widely recognized as North America’s leading food ingredient supplier, known for taking a product from inception through to development, manufacturing, packaging and distribution.  They are looking to fill a critical role on their Logistics Team.

Compensation

Competitive compensation with bonus.

The Opportunity

This role will work closely with a wide scope of internal areas, including Customer Care, Replenishment, Procurement, Sales, Pricing, Finance, Production and Quality.  In addition, you will interact with customers, suppliers and vendors.

Position Description

  • Evaluate the current distribution network, warehousing, transportation and logistics services to develop a plan to efficiently meet customer needs.
  • Source and qualify vendors throughout our distribution and freight channels
  • Conduct contract negotiations with 3PL’s and other vendors to meet costs/service levels/fostering vendor relationships
  • Measure both the performance and costs of third party services and identify opportunities
  • Assist and support investigations of customer and supplier complaints
  • Facilitate projects for ongoing improvements to fill rates and inventory KPI’s
  • Ability to travel to evaluate sites and service providers

Experience

  • 7+ years in warehousing operations including all modes of transportation
  • 5+ plus years in fast paces supply chain environment, food manufacturing, distribution and CPG industries preferred
  • Experience in negotiating rates with carriers and developing customer rates
  • Microsoft Dynamics/SAP exposure/Advanced Excel and knowledge in ERP & WMS
  • Excellent communication skills

Education

Post-Secondary Education in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Finance or other relevant field
