Our client is a storied company within both the distribution and manufacturing markets.  This Canadian Company is a widely successful supply chain partner providing products and solutions to the Industrial, Environmental, and Plastics industries.

The Opportunity

This position will allow you a unique perspective and ability to provide support to both vendors and customers, all the while acting as commercial support to Product Managers. You will have the ability to maximize both sales and profits within the company’s Plastics Division, by making improvements in the areas of marketing, pricing and documentation.

Position Description

This role will have you coordinating with Product Managers in the purchasing and inventory control for various commodity and engineered products. This position will allow you to refine your knowledge as a chemical commodities expert, as you monitor pricing of pending purchase orders and source available product. You will assist in establishing list pricing and analyze low margin root causes.

Additionally, this role affords the opportunity to liaise with suppliers to gain valuable product data, certification specifications, product approval, as well as investigate and resolve any accounting discrepancies. It truly is a unique role giving you dominion to maintain all supported pricing, renewals, expirations, inactive quotes and ensure supports are current.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Business or equivalent related experience
  • 5+ years of experience Product/Vendor relations
  • Direct experience managing relations in chemical ingredients being a definite asset
  • A comprehensive understanding of the Distribution business
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • High degree of self-motivation, ability to multi-task and an aptitude to work with figures
  • Critical Thinking, active listening, conflict resolution skills
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a high-reliability environment with professionalism

Education

University degree in Business or equivalent related experience
