Compensation

On offer is a highly competitive compensation package of $55,000 to $56,500 annual salary, plus a comprehensive benefits plan.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for an EHS and Training Specialist who is looking to join an organization where you are a key member of the Occupational Safety and Health of the company. Your experience and expertise will be entrusted towards ensuring all employees, contractors, and vendors are working and behaving in the safest way possible.

Position Description

  • Implement company’s safety program into daily plant operations and serve as a safety resource for employees, supervisors, managers, and leadership team
  • Exercise stop authority to prevent imminent injury risks to employees due to unsafe behavior, improper equipment use, or hazardous workplace conditions
  • Create access badges and manage company’s security key program for all Chaucer employees, visitors, and temporary hires
  • Coordinate and presents Alchemy training classes for new hires and conduct monthly Alchemy training classes
  • Manage radio and communication program
  • Manage workers compensation claims
  • Conduct investigation around workplace injury and damage
  • Manage Emergency Action Plan and oversee periodic evacuation drills
  • Daily and weekly KPI’s
  • Manage Safety Interaction Program
  • Report injury/ incident to leadership team within the 24-hour window
  • Conduct monthly Safety Meetings, scan, and upload records of meeting minutes to the shared drive
  • Coordinate daily and weekly safety walks, isolate and report safety deficiencies and monitor their resolution
  • Stock first aid kits, check AEDS, fire extinguishers, fire exits, wash stations, eye wash stations and SDS/MSDS
  • Manage company’s personal protective equipment (PPE) program

Experience

2 to 5 years of Health and Safety experience.

Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines (OHSA)
  • Experience in business continuity and emergency management/preparedness
  • Experience in manufacturing safety and health

Education

Experience and/or education related to Occupational Safety and Health is an asset.
