Compensation

  • $70,000 – $75,000* base salary

The Opportunity

Our client is seeking an Environmental Project Coordinator to support hazardous materials and environmental consulting projects within a fast-paced consulting environment.

This role is ideal for someone who has prior experience working for an environmental consulting firm and who is looking to continue building their career in project coordination and hazardous materials consulting.

The successful candidate will work closely with Project Managers, field staff, contractors, laboratories, and clients to help coordinate project activities, support field operations, manage documentation, and ensure projects move efficiently from initiation through completion.

This is a highly collaborative role that combines project coordination, technical reporting, client communication, and field support responsibilities.

Position Description

Reporting to Senior Project Managers and Regional Leadership, responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating environmental and hazardous materials projects from initiation through completion
  • Supporting asbestos, lead, mould, silica, mercury, PCB, and designated substance assessments and remediation projects
  • Assisting with scheduling field staff, site visits, inspections, and project activities
  • Coordinating communication between clients, contractors, laboratories, consultants, and internal teams
  • Participating in site inspections, assessments, and sample collection activities as required
  • Assisting with preparation of technical reports, proposals, project documentation, and client deliverables
  • Supporting project budgeting, tracking, and administrative coordination
  • Monitoring project timelines and helping ensure deliverables are completed on schedule
  • Assisting with regulatory compliance and maintaining project documentation standards
  • Attending project meetings and supporting ongoing client communication

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working within an environmental consulting firm
  • Direct experience with hazardous building materials including asbestos, lead, mould, silica, mercury, PCBs, and designated substances
  • Experience supporting environmental consulting or hazardous materials projects in a coordination or consulting capacity
  • Strong understanding of applicable environmental and occupational health & safety regulations
  • Experience working within a client-facing consulting environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously

Qualifications

  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and project documentation
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with Bluebeam or related software is considered an asset

Education

  • Degree or diploma in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Building Science, or a related discipline

 

OR

 

  • Equivalent combination of education and directly relevant environmental consulting experience
