The Opportunity

Position Description

Reporting to VP of Finance, as Junior Bookkeeper you will have an opportunity to work as part of a close-knit, dynamic team, handling day-to-day bookkeeping for the organization and various administrative tasks associated with it.

 

  • Support reconciliation of A / P, A / R, General ledger, Government remittances and Bank reconciliations
  • Perform collections tasks by calling and collecting receivables, resolving issues pertaining to customer invoices, account adjustments, customer refunds and credit memos
  • Support the VP of Finance with month-end financial reporting
  • Supporting payroll administration including issuing paycheques, calculating source deductions, vacation pay, issuing ROEs and T4s, investigating and resolving payroll issues etc.
  • Prepare and process quarterly GST HST payments
  • Assist with special projects and/or perform related administrative

Experience

As the successful candidate, you will have superior communication skills, including excellent written and verbal skills with an in-depth knowledge of accounting software and advanced Excel skills.

 

  • Minimum 1 years of experience in the related field
  • Experience working with various accounting software.
  • Wage Point experience desirable. Excel experience is also imperative.

Qualifications

  • University degree or college diploma in related field (Accounting, Book keeping or related field)
  • Solid understanding of accounting practices and policies in Canada including sales, payroll, and corporate taxation.
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
  • Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers

Education

University degree or college diploma in related field (Accounting, Book keeping or related field).
