At this time they wish to add a Loss Prevention Supervisor to their exciting and dynamic team.

Position Description

The Loss Prevention Supervisor is a leadership role within a Distribution Center, tasked with guiding, communicating, and providing support across the assigned facilities. In this crucial position you will support all aspects of the Loss Prevention Department, encompassing Physical Security, Inventory Management, Investigations, and Oversight of Contract Security Personnel.

  • Assign daily responsibilities to Security Officers and Loss Prevention staff.
  • Aid in internal probes alongside the Security Director.
  • Manage emergency responses and uphold fire safety protocols.
  • Run continual educational programs on loss prevention, safety, and shrinkage for all employees and management.
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures.
  • Report any safety hazards or violations to the appropriate personnel.
  • Supervise and conduct auditing and investigations.
  • Oversee the entry and exit of all employees, visitors, and contractors to the premises.
  • Regulate disposal of sample goods, returns, damaged goods, and donations as per company standards.
  • Monitor fire and security alarm systems to guarantee correct responses.
  • Manage the handling of trailers and respond to emergencies, aligning actions with company policies.
  • Encourage awareness of loss prevention and conduct regular security inspections.
  • Identify safety risks and communicate them to management.
  • Support in conducting probes and audits within the distribution setting.
  • Review security footage and system logs to spot potential breaches or violations.
  • Undertake basic investigations into various incidents, documenting findings discreetly.
  • Foster effective communication with colleagues and leaders to achieve objectives.
  • Execute emergency drills, safety inspections, and manage access to secure areas.

Experience

Experience in a supervisory role for 3 to 5 years.

Qualifications

  • A diploma in Law and Security or relevant field experience.
  • Required security license as per provincial regulations.
  • Profound knowledge of Loss Prevention technology and operations.
  • High ethical standards with the ability to handle confidential information.
  • Keen interest in a career within Retail Loss Prevention.
  • Ability to operate independently.
  • Strong communication, delegation, and motivational capabilities.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in security or loss prevention, with a customer service background in conflict resolution.
  • Proficiency in fire and burglary alarm systems.
  • Investigative and interviewing expertise, with the capacity to detect suspicious behavior and gather evidence.

Education

A diploma in Law and Security or relevant field experience.
