Pharmacy Manager

An established, growing, dynamic healthcare and pharmaceutical organization based in the GTA is looking for a Pharmacy Manager for one of their locations in Oshawa. This role with an organization has multiple locations and service offerings with unique and specializes pharmacy structures. They have over 100 staff throughout the region and continue to grow.

Position Description

You will be the Designated Manager for one location, while also managing a Remote Dispensing location in a clinic a setting. In this role, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Interacting with patients, healthcare professionals and other staff to offer expert advice, address inquiries and ensure exceptional customer service to patients that require accessibility to high-cost drugs, medications that may not be readily accessible, or complex specialty medications
  • Monitoring the Cold-Chain pharmaceutical operations. Troubleshooting any discrepancies and compiling corrective action plans.
  • Collaborating with physicians and healthcare providers to optimize patient medication therapy and monitoring of potential drug interactions
  • Overseeing quality assurance to ensure adherence to established pharmacy protocols, quality control standards and regulatory requirements to ensure the highest level of patient safety and service
  • Online/over the phone medication counseling when required
  • Managing a small team; coaching, mentoring and providing direction
  • Dealing with an escalated issues

Experience

  • 3+ years’ experience as a practicing pharmacist
  • A valid license as a Pharmacist in good standing with the college of Pharmacy in Ontario
  • Must be a Part A licensed pharmacist

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BScPhm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
  • A licensed Pharmacist in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacy
