Pharmacy Manager

An established, growing, dynamic healthcare and pharmaceutical organization based in the GTA is looking for a Pharmacy Manager for one of their locations in Oshawa. This is an important role with an organization that proudly boasts multiple locations and service offerings, with unique and specialized pharmacy structures. They have over 100 staff throughout the region and continue to grow.

Compensation

$100,000 – $110,000 salary, plus benefits, plus wellness allowance.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacy Manager to oversee the operations of a closed-door pharmacy that focuses on providing specialty pharmaceutical products, high-cost drugs, and patient-centric tailored services. This location is NOT open to the public. Patient counselling is generally conducted using virtual platforms. This full-time, permanent, Monday-to-Friday, days-based position offers a lucrative compensation package.

Position Description

This role offers a Monday to Friday, daytime-hours schedule. You will be the designated manager for this remote dispensary. In this role, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to, the following:

  • Interacting with patients, healthcare professionals and other staff to offer expert advice, address inquiries and ensure exceptional customer service to patients who require accessibility to high-cost drugs, medications that may not be readily accessible, or complex specialty medications
  • Monitoring the Cold-Chain pharmaceutical operations. Troubleshooting any discrepancies and compiling corrective action plans
  • Collaborating with physicians and healthcare providers to optimize patient medication therapy and monitoring of potential drug interactions
  • Overseeing quality assurance to ensure adherence to established pharmacy protocols, quality control standards and regulatory requirements to ensure the highest level of patient safety and service
  • Online/over-the-phone medication counseling when required
  • Managing a small team; coaching, mentoring and providing direction
  • Dealing with escalated issues

 

Please note: this job description is intended to outline the general responsibilities and qualifications for the Pharmacy Manager. Additional duties may be assigned as needed to support the pharmacy operations and patient care,

Experience

  • 3+ years’ experience as a practicing pharmacist
  • Experience as a Pharmacy Manager or Supervisor a strong asset

Qualifications

  • A valid license as a Pharmacist in good standing with the college of Pharmacy in Ontario
  • Must be a Part A licensed pharmacist

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BScPhm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
  • A licensed Pharmacist in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacy
