Company Description

An established, growing, dynamic healthcare and pharmaceutical organization based in the GTA is looking for a Regional Pharmacist to rove between their locations. This is an organization with 6 locations, 9 different divisions and over 100 staff. The individual coming into this role will be the only roving pharmacist giving you more versatile experience as you will have the opportunity to learn and work with all of their divisions.

Compensation

$90,000 – $100,000 salary, plus benefits plus wellness allowance.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Regional Licensed Pharmacist to float between all locations based on the business demands of the organization. The locations are NOT retail pharmacies. This is a full time, permanent role, where you will be working Monday to Friday, on a regular day shift, during business hours.

Each location is unique in itself with a few locations offering reimbursement programs, other locations providing sterile compounding and wholesale distribution, and another location providing medical device distribution. With a multidisciplinary practice, the Pharmacist coming into this new role will have the opportunity to learn new things, while ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of a vast array of pharmaceutical services.

If you are someone that gets bored with mundane, repetitive tasks, then this role is for you, as every day you will have the opportunity to work on new and exciting things!

Position Description

As the Regional Pharmacist you will be working out of five different locations, each providing a different pharmaceutical/healthcare service to ensure patients are receiving quality care. Some locations will require your attendance only once a month, but other locations require more regular involvement as they are extremely busy, structured operations that require signing authority on a regular basis. In this role, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Interacting with patients, healthcare professionals and other staff to offer expert advice, address inquiries and ensure exceptional customer service to patients that require accessibility to high-cost drugs, medications that may not be readily accessible, or complex specialty medications
  • Monitoring the Cold-Chain pharmaceutical operations. Troubleshooting any discrepancies and compiling corrective action plans.
  • Collaborating with physicians and healthcare providers to optimize patient medication therapy and monitoring of potential drug interactions
  • Overseeing the quality assurance in all facilities while on-site, to ensure adherence to established pharmacy protocols, quality control standards and regulatory requirements to ensure the highest level of patient safety and service
  • Online/over the phone medication counseling when required

Please note this job posting is intended to outline the general responsibilities and qualifications for the Regional Pharmacist, Roving. Additional duties may be assigned as needed to support the pharmacy operations and patient care in different locations within the GTA and surrounding areas.

Experience

3+ years’ experience as a practicing pharmacist.

Qualifications

A valid license as a Pharmacist in good standing with the college of Pharmacy in Ontario.

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BScPhm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
