The Opportunity

Our client has an exciting opening for a Senior Production Planner to join their team on the in Forest Grove, Oregon. Position Description

To succeed in this important position, you will possess a thorough understanding of material requirements planning (MRP) and exhibit proficiency in managing production timelines. The goal is to ensure the seamless operation of production activities through outstanding organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Always prioritize safety and encourage a culture of safety among colleagues.
  • Analyze purchase orders to devise appropriate production schedules.
  • Calculate the necessary materials, equipment, and labor for production tasks.
  • Quickly address and solve production issues to avoid production delays.
  • Organize production activities based on the availability of materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Suggest effective strategies to reduce production expenses, enhance operational processes, and improve the quality of products.
  • Adjust production schedules to meet deadlines effectively.
  • Collaborate with warehouse personnel to ensure precise shipments.
  • Inform stakeholders about any discrepancies such as back orders or delays and handle inquiries.
  • Prepare and deliver reports on status and performance to management promptly.
  • Notify relevant departments immediately about any alterations to production schedules.
  • Adhere to and enforce established procedures, ensuring compliance with company policies and safety standards. Implement and maintain best practices.
  • Participate in daily production meetings, highlighting any issues impacting the production schedule.
  • Strategically plan production schedules considering lead times, due dates, and available resources; refine and optimize plans, inventory, and service levels.
  • Monitor the progress of the production schedule in daily operations meetings, identify potential challenges, and devise plans to mitigate risks.
  • Manage capacity and inventory forecasts.
  • Engage with all key business functions to drive continuous improvement and consistently achieve business goals.

Experience

  • Demonstrated experience as a production planner.
  • Preference for candidates with SAP experience.

Qualifications

  • Having a Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) certification or similar credentials is beneficial.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office suite.
    Comprehensive understanding of MRP and related software applications.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Superior organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business management, or a related area is preferred.
