Our client is a well-established transportation and logistics organization with a strong operating footprint in container movement, storage, and freight-related services. The company supports customers that depend on reliable movement of goods, accurate documentation, disciplined cost control, and responsive service across a busy transportation environment.
This is a practical, operations-driven business where finance is closely connected to daily decision-making. The successful candidate will join a company where strong accounting leadership, clear reporting, cash flow discipline, and process improvement directly support service quality, operating efficiency, and long-term growth.
A lucrative and comprehensive compensation package is on offer.
This is a hands-on, permanent, full-time, Finance Controller role for someone who enjoys being close to the business, not tucked away from it.
The successful candidate will oversee finance and accounting operations, guide a multi-person accounting team, strengthen controls, improve reporting, manage cash flow visibility, and help leadership make better decisions with better financial information.
This position is especially well-suited to a finance leader who has worked in transportation, trucking, logistics, shipping containers, or a similarly fast-moving operational environment. The work will require accuracy and structure, but also judgment, urgency, communication, and the ability to support different departments with practical financial insight.
The Finance Controller will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the finance and accounting function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, payroll, internal audit support, reconciliations, general ledger work, journal entries, month-end close, year-end close, and financial reporting.
This person will prepare monthly financial indicators, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, cash flow analyses, budget variance reporting, and other financial tools required by leadership and operating teams. The role will also involve monitoring cash flow, identifying potential deficiencies, and ensuring management has timely visibility into financial risk, cost pressures, and operational performance.
A key part of the mandate will be improving financial processes and internal controls. The Finance Controller will assess current procedures, identify duplicated reporting or inefficient workflows, support cost control initiatives, and recommend practical improvements that help the business operate more effectively.
The role will also provide leadership to the accounting team. This includes mentoring staff, involving team members in higher-level discussions where appropriate, supporting performance and development, and helping hire, train, and retain strong accounting talent.
The Finance Controller will also prepare and present financial reports to key stakeholders, including leadership, auditors, and other parties involved in financial review or investment-related decisions.
The ideal candidate will bring progressive finance and accounting experience in a role with team leadership responsibility.
The successful candidate will have strong technical accounting ability combined with the confidence to lead people, challenge processes, and communicate financial information clearly.
