The Opportunity

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales and business development within the freight forwarding and logistics sector. The role will focus on expanding the company’s client base, strengthening relationships with existing clients, and driving revenue growth within a specific trade lane: UK, US, or Germany.

You will be responsible for developing sales strategies, managing customer relationships, and maximizing profitability while ensuring operational efficiency. As a longstanding leader in freight forwarding, you will have full support from top management and an experienced team committed to delivering exceptional client service, helping you achieve your vision of sales excellence and growth.

Position Description

Sales & Business Development:

  • Develop and implement sales strategies for the assigned trade lane (UK, US, or Germany) to drive revenue growth and market share.
  • Identify new business opportunities, develop client proposals, and manage negotiations to secure long-term contracts.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders within the specific trade lane to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.

 

Market & Client Analysis:

  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape within the assigned region.
  • Provide tailored logistics solutions based on client requirements and the unique demands of the assigned trade lane.
  • Monitor and manage customer accounts to ensure optimal service delivery and resolve any issues quickly.

 

Operational Coordination:

  • Collaborate with the operations team to ensure smooth and efficient freight forwarding operations within the designated trade lane.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant customs, import/export, and regulatory requirements for the assigned trade lane.
  • Coordinate cross-border logistics, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effective transportation solutions.

 

Reporting & Performance Tracking:

  • Track and report sales performance against targets, including revenue, market share, and customer satisfaction metrics.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on sales progress and key achievements.
  • Analyze sales data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary.

Experience

Proven experience in sales and business development within the freight forwarding, or logistics industry.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of global logistics, customs regulations, and market dynamics for the assigned trade lane (UK, US, or Germany).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Additional certifications in logistics or freight forwarding would be an advantage.
  • Strong commercial acumen and a results-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
  • In-depth knowledge of international logistics networks and trade lane management.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driving license and own vehicle (preferred).

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
